4777 Aksenov (1976 SM2) is a main belt asteroid discovered on September 24, 1976 by Chernykh, N. S. at Nauchnyj. The asteroid was named after Evgenij Petrovich Askenov, a Russian physicist who studied celestial mechanics and served as director of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute.[1]
